Since 1971, OCYSF helps disadvantaged youth in Orange County gain access to youth sports programs that are proven to help kids develop critical social and emotional skills, maintain physical and mental health, build relationships, gain acceptance to College and get better jobs with higher pay.
Thanks to Grants from OCYSF, local nonprofits and sports programs have been able to get the equipment and supplies needed to include underserved kids and to create new teams and leagues to give low-income kids the chance to play.
No child in Orange County should be denied access to live-improving, and often life-saving, youth sports programs.
The foundation targets grants towards local youth sports programs that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and community involvement. These programs are aimed at underserved and disabled youth in Orange County, providing them with opportunities to participate in organized sports.
Scholarships are awarded to outstanding high school scholar-athletes in Orange County who demonstrate academic excellence, athletic prowess, and a commitment to their community. These scholarships help support their higher education endeavors.
Low-income and disadvantaged youth in Orange County are often unable to participate in life-changing, and often life-saving, youth sports programs.
