Funds raised support sports programs serving disadvantaged, disabled and low-income Orange County youth. OCYSF also awards scholarships annually to exceptional local high school senior scholar-athletes to help pay for college.

A LEGACY OF SPORTS LEGENDS

The Sportsperson of the Year banquet, first held in 1971, is a highly anticipated annual Orange County community tradition, celebrating legendary sports figures who inspire youth and lead in their communities. The award, inspired by the cast iron bells of El Camino Real, honors the county’s history and underscores Orange County Youth Sports Foundation’s commitment to the community’s future. We are thrilled to honor Landon Donovan and Alexi Lalas as Sportsperson of the Year award winners on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, as we prepare to root on the US Men’s National Team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup starting June 11.
