Mike Scioscia, born Michael Lorri Scioscia on November 27, 1958, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, is a former professional baseball player and manager known for his long-standing association with the Los Angeles Angels. Scioscia attended Springfield High School, where he excelled in baseball, and was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the 1976 MLB Draft.

Scioscia made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut with the Dodgers in 1980 and quickly established himself as a reliable catcher. Known for his defensive prowess and ability to handle pitchers, Scioscia played a key role in the Dodgers’ World Series victories in 1981 and 1988. His leadership on the field and his contributions to the team made him a beloved figure among Dodgers fans.
