Advice to young athletes:
“No matter how tough it gets, no matter the obstacles or lack of resources, always remember: the most difficult challenges yield the greatest rewards in the long run. When the going gets tough, work even harder, for it is during these times that you gain the most. Believe in yourself, for your future self is counting on you.”
How have sports impacted your life?:
“Sports have taught me the value of teamwork and hard work, shaping me into the leader I am today. They provided an essential escape from a challenging upbringing, instilling in me the belief that I can achieve anything I set my mind to, despite having fewer resources than my peers. Sports built my confidence, helped me make friends, and drove me to success during my adolescence, teenage years, and post-college years. This experience has equipped me with the tools and resilience needed to navigate my life path successfully.”
What year and why did you join the OCYSF Board?
“2024 – I was once a youth who dreamt of playing every sport, but my family’s financial sacrifices for the promise of freedom limited my opportunities. My parents, who immigrated to this country, worked tirelessly, leaving us unable to afford all the leagues, gear, and transportation for practices. I joined OCYSF because I now have the chance to make a difference for children like me, eager to compete and pursue their passions. Through this competition, these children are likely to become future impact makers in the world.”
In your own words, what does the OCYSF Mission Statement mean?
“To give those who want to compete in life, an early chance in doing so.”

Born and raised in Costa Mesa, California, Fa attended Fullerton Union High School and later graduated from the University of California, Irvine. His passion for sports was evident from a young age, having played tennis, soccer, basketball, football, and golf, with golf being his favorite sport to play. Sports played a significant role in shaping Fa’s life, teaching him the value of teamwork and hard work. They provided an essential escape from a challenging upbringing and instilled in him the belief that he could achieve anything he set his mind to, despite having fewer resources than his peers.

Fa’s career in real estate began at the age of 18 as a marketing assistant in the Newport Beach real estate market. Over the past 27 years, he has risen through the ranks to become a dedicated and passionate leader in the industry. His journey in real estate has brought him numerous rewards, far exceeding his initial expectations.

In 2024, Fa joined the Orange County Youth Sports Foundation (OCYSF) Board. His motivation for joining the board stems from his own experiences as a youth who dreamt of playing every sport but faced financial limitations. His parents, Reza and Fereshteh, who immigrated to the United States, worked tirelessly to provide for the family, making it difficult to afford all the leagues, gear, and transportation for practices. He believes that these opportunities will help shape future impact makers in the world.

Fa’s commitment to giving back to the community is reflected in his personal philosophy and his involvement with OCYSF.
