Dr. Robert Goldberg, a dedicated Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician at Mission Heritage Medical Group, has been an influential member of the Orange County Youth Sports Foundation (OCYSF) since 2019. Raised in Newport Beach, California, Robert’s passion for sports and medicine has shaped his journey and contributions to his community.

Robert attended Francis Parker High School in San Diego, California, where he excelled in multiple sports, including football, tennis, wrestling, and track and field. His love for sports continued at UCLA, where he played rugby as the Hooker for the UCLA rugby team until an injury ended his playing career. These experiences in sports taught Robert invaluable life lessons and instilled a sense of discipline and teamwork that have been vital in his professional life.

After completing his education at UCLA, Robert pursued a career in medicine, specializing in pulmonary and critical care. As a physician, he is committed to providing exceptional care to his patients and has earned a reputation for his expertise and compassionate approach. His professional accomplishments are complemented by his dedication to mentoring and coaching young athletes.

Reflecting on the impact of sports, Robert shares, “Sports have been vital to making me the man I am, teaching many important rules of life.” His personal mission aligns with OCYSF’s goal to provide support for student-athletes and ensure everyone has the opportunity to experience the joy of sports.

Robert’s involvement with OCYSF extends to coaching his children’s teams in baseball, soccer, and flag football, as well as volunteering as a team doctor for various teams. His commitment to youth sports and community service showcases his dedication to fostering a love for sports in the younger generation.
