How have sports impacted your life?:
“Over the years, sports have improved my physical fitness, stamina, and helped me lead a healthy lifestyle. It has helped me with self esteem, stress reduction, and a sense of accomplishment. Sports have taught me collaboration, communication and leadership. Sports helped develop discipline and good time management skills which have been vital in having a successful practice and family life. Handling wins and losses have taught me valuable lessons about perserverance.”

“Offering sporting opportunities to children who might not have the means or support to pursue those opportunities.”

Dr. Christopher Zachary is a highly skilled orthodontist and the founder of Zachary Orthodontics, based in Laguna Niguel, California. Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Zachary has dedicated his career to helping patients achieve beautiful smiles and optimal oral health. He graduated from UC Irvine in 1990 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Social Ecology before earning his dental degree on a scholarship from USC in 1994. He completed a general practice residency at UC San Francisco in 1996 and specialized in Orthodontics at New York University in 1998.

Dr. Zachary has served as an instructor at several prestigious institutions, including USC, UCSF, and NYU, where he shared his expertise with future dental professionals. He is a published author, lecturer, and researcher in the fields of dentistry and orthodontics and has built his practice around the principles of orthodontic excellence and community involvement.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Zachary has been an active member of the Orange County Youth Sports Foundation (OCYSF) since 2014. He is passionate about helping children develop through sports, which he believes instills valuable lessons in discipline, collaboration, and perseverance. His involvement with OCYSF extends his commitment to helping children build confidence and develop into healthy, successful adults.

Dr. Zachary met his wife, Trish, while they were both attending UC Irvine, where they met in an English class. The couple married in August 1992 and have three sons. When he’s not working, Dr. Zachary enjoys staying active through sports like swimming, water polo, and basketball. He also enjoys spending time with his family and is known for his excellent sofrito.
