How have sports impacted your life?:
” Sports gave me a foundation. Taught me discipline, teamwork, hard work, preparation and how to compete. Learned how to win and also how to learn from losing.”

Craig Lipus is the Managing Partner at McDermott + Bull Executive Search, where he leads the firm’s Private Equity Healthcare Practice. With a career dedicated to executive search, Craig has established himself as a key player in connecting top talent with leading healthcare organizations. His role involves identifying and recruiting executives who drive growth and innovation within the healthcare sector, ensuring that companies have the leadership necessary to thrive.

Born and raised in Downey, California, Craig attended Downey High School. His passion for sports was evident early on, as he actively participated in baseball and basketball during his school years. Craig pursued higher education at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), where he further developed his skills and prepared for a successful career in executive search.

Craig’s involvement in sports did not end with his playing days. He has also coached baseball and football, sharing his knowledge and passion with younger generations. Reflecting on his sports experiences, Craig says, “Sports have taught me invaluable lessons in teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Coaching allows me to pass these lessons on to the next generation.”

Craig joined the Orange County Youth Sports Foundation (OCYSF) with a desire to give back to the community and support underprivileged youth. He articulates the foundation’s mission as “To serve the underprivileged community in OC,” reflecting his dedication to providing opportunities for young athletes to participate in sports and learn valuable life skills. Since joining the OCYSF Board, Craig has been actively involved in various initiatives that aim to support and empower young athletes.

Residing in Coto de Caza, California, Craig enjoys an active lifestyle. He lives with his wife, Robin, and together they have three children and seven grandchildren. In addition to their own family, Craig and Robin are dedicated foster parents, further showcasing their commitment to supporting children and families in need. Craig’s involvement in Concept 7, a foster family agency, highlights his dedication to providing loving and supportive environments for children.

Craig’s commitment to family and community service is evident in his daily life and professional endeavors. Throughout his tenure with OCYSF, Craig has demonstrated a passion for empowering youth and fostering community development through sports. His contributions have been instrumental in supporting the foundation’s mission and expanding its impact in the community.
